I have been working on this for some time now and today I did the grass and ground and I don't like it. I tried many different ways to do it and it just don't work for me. I am almost finished with this one. There is lettering on the trains, but I can not for the life of me see what it says on the reference photo.

Don't enjoy drawing landscapes either, but yours looks pretty good from here :)
Maybe you have a close-up of the grass?

Personally I like using dark graphite, a smudger stick and a very sharp erasor for grass/hair, but generally try to avoid it all together!
A student of mine is busy with a grassland that fills almost the entire page and I certainly don't envy her!!

this is more like small bushes, Thats how I did it too and then lifted graphite in area's to highlight. I will post a close up.

The ground is sort of rocky or light hard ground with pebbles. It's a gypsum mine.

For someone that doesn't like to draw them, you sure are good at them! :)
