I wanted to post this photo of my son Adrian's work again, as it did get buried in another post. I am proud of his work and will pass on any responses to him. We do not have the internet at home, so I am posting this from work (I work graveyard, midnight to 8:00 with no one around. Quiet!) Thank you all!

I find the beads quite exquisite and, the colors are intense.
I'm sure you're very proud of your Artist son...rightly so.

They are really nice Kimberly! That is so cool that he is into beads too! Now if I can get my son interested! hehe, he sorta is, but sorta isn't. I think that once he can make a decent bead he would get hooked! (hopefully), he likes computer games to much!

But now LLuvia, she is something else.......she is our Artist' Residente' (anyway sounded good! hehe)

Tell him to keep it up! It is so nice for me to see young adults (and children) doing hot glass, if you get them hooked at the right age it can be a source of lifetime fullfillment to them. I was lucky we got our daughter into it at 13, most parents seem to be interested in what their kids want to do, but I see few that go out and buy whatever it takes so they can try their hands at it. I knew of many others who homeschooled their kids (like me) and they never did go and buy the setups for the things they were interested in, then it is so sad to see them loose the interest after a few years.

Congradulations Kimberly! You are doing the right thing!

Thank you, Laura. I keep trying to tell him, "Don't wait until you are as old as I am to do the things you want to do!!" Amazing how people will try to throw roadblocks in front of you to kep you from what you love. I hope it never happens to him, but I know at sometime it will. I just try to be sure that i am not the "roadblocker!!"

Another one of Adrian's beads, this time soft glass.

Those beads- both the boro and the moretti- are absolutely stunning! The boro beads have such a vibrance to them! Tell your son he's doing a great job! (and give yourself pats on the back too)

Kimberly - those are great beads. Adrian's doing awesome!

Can you imagine being able to make beads at that age? When I was a teenager, a part-time job was waitressing or some kind of office work. Imagine making beads and selling them on eBay as your "part time job" during high school...ain't technology great?

Your son is a wonderful artist and you are quite right to be so proud of him. As to roadblocks, I find we mostly throw those up ourselves and pin them on others, but you are also right to encourage him and tell him not to put his dreams off. We never know how much time we have on the planet, so best to live to the fullest, which includes doing what you love.

Tell Adrian his beads are wonderful. I will have to look them up on eBay! :cat: Wish my parents were as encouraging as you & Laura in getting me to pursue my dreams when I was younger!
