That is a very sweet cat....i love her eyes...they are very expressive.....but the white patch near the neck is a little distracting. Feels as if you missed color there... sorry...

Don't be sorry. I appreciate it. :)

She is lovely. I think her fur is realistic...well painted, Linda.

Linda, what a beautiful cat, I love the eyes. I agree that the white spot needs to be softened but it may have been enhanced by the camera so keep that in mind. Lovely work.

Thanks Margaret and Sue. I did grey down the white spot a bit. I think it looks better. :) I'll probably take another photo tomorrow. Besides the white spot, this one is more blurry than I thought.

This is beautiful...like the composition with the window in the bg. Nice job on the fur and the eyes :)

Beautiful cat!

Oh, I want to him/her a snuggle. Thanks for sharing! Ruthie

Great painting. I love that there is a window next to him/her and not just a cat sitting on a table or something.

02-20-2008, 09:06 PM
OOOOoooooo...her coat is striking! A beautiful job..and a beautiful cat :)

02-20-2008, 09:26 PM
Awesome. I wish I could say more. Awesome is the best way to express what I think about this painting.

You have captured the pose of a cat just beautifully. And a great composition in front of a window.

02-20-2008, 10:57 PM
Linda, I wish I could think of something more to say that has not already been said...beautiful!

Good work! Torties are always so unique and just beg to be painted, but doing it can be torture. lol Did you enjoy it?

Linda, I love the variety of colors in your cat! It is such a delight to the eye!

Mz Sketch Pad, MrsG, Susan, Michelle, Colleen, Violet, Arlene, Elizabeth, Tracey, and Betty...thanks so much. I do appreciate it so. :)

Here's my updated photo. I don't know if you'll see the subtle colors in the white or not.

Good work! Torties are always so unique and just beg to be painted, but doing it can be torture. lol Did you enjoy it?

The background wall and chair were the hardest for me. The fur, being so full of color and texture, seemed more forgiving. It's hard to make a mistake when she looks like mud. :)

^^^^what Violet said ^^^^!! Love all the colours in her fur too.

Like everyone else said, this is just great. Yes, I can see the colors you added to the white patch. I also like what you did through the window in the background, and the way the light looks coming in. Such a beautiful cat!

Lulu, it's hard to get a good photo of her when she's awake. She's always poised to move. Lol.

Thanks, sunrae. The dog is the family's. The other cat, my daughter's. This one is mine. :)

This is lovely.
A good composition and a gorgeous subject.

The colors you added to the white, I believe I see blues, purple and a little yellow.... anyway they add to the feeling of fur. Job well done.

Thanks, meritaten.

You've got it, Colleen. :)

What an obliging puss to sit for her portrait! :D ;)

I do like the comp here Linda - all the surroundings are beautifully painted too but don't detract from the cat.
Nice work
