This girl was seen dumped from a van. She lived in the woods for 3 weeks until she got caught in a deer trap. The cops wanted to "put a bullet in her head", but the Animal Control Officer called me instead.

The colors didn't come out very well at all on the monitor. Her muzzle, mask and ear are really quite black on the canvas. Oh well.

One very blessed little girl.
It looks pretty good to me.

Just as wonderful as your "Whimsies"

This looks really good to me ! I love these paintings you are doing of the dogs. You get such appealing expressions and the colours are just great!
P.S. This story is so sad...I am so pleased this lovely girl was saved.

Oh god, reading that story got me in tears. That poor baby must have gone through so much :( So happy that she found her way to you. Wish there would be more people like you out there! The painting is absolutely gorgeous. I love the pose and the face is beautifully done :)

Fabulous work, Lucie and how fortunate that you were able to save her. She is a real beauty as are you for coming to her rescue.

Lucie, I love it. I can almost hear her barking "let me out of here" :)
You really have captured a sense of the dogs character. Well done.

Beautiful painting!! Very well done.
(Story reminds me of my little dog that lived under my shed for 9 or so months before she would come to me and had a choke chain inbedded in her skin. I've had her for several years now and she is very happy.)

Beautiful. Lovely pose and scene.
This is beautiful, love the way the colors from the subject move through the piece...JEEZE getting lost isn't what it used to be...traps and bullets...what a very lucky girl, that you were there to pick up the phone.

Thanks, Howard and Kathleen. Wondered if anyone would like the real ones after the whimisies :D
Sandy, their faces are so full of expression it's easy to paint them, although they look sad most of the time (even when they're not).
Thanks Tracey and Dreamz
SONI...you're in the BRONX! I hauled a few dogs out there! No time for tears.
She has a happy life now.
Sue, you're right. By the time I was done with her, her skinny self turned into a beauty.
Bill, she was looking for a way out of there...and she had a home very quickly.
Linn, bet your little dog is the sweetest thing in the world and forever grateful. Wonderful that you saved her!
Thanks Violet, Gayle, Cami and Linda for your kind words and comments. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Tazz and Margaret. She really is a beautiful dog and so well behaved, incredible. How anyone could throw her out is beyond me.
I love the way you capture the wonderful spirits of your dogs. They are so lucky to have you. Ruthie

wonderful end to your story. A good home and a great painting.

Wonderfully done....you and my daughter and people like you...I wish you could rescue and save them all...My dog rescued two pups and brought them home....they were so tiny and afraid....now he looks at these huge dogs like what happened...lol. They were our second rescue....just something about those rejected ones whose sweet spirits shine through the abuse. He looks gorgeous.

It is beyond me how anyone can be cruel to or dump any pet..I have the highest admiration for everyone who rescues animals....Lucie - your paintings are fantastic - so well done - I love them....and you are a wonderful person for all the time and effort you have put into rescuing these beautiful dogs....

Wonderful painting, and you are a wonderful person to put yourself out there to rescue animals, especially those large enough to be like a pony in your kitchen.
Good for you, and thank you.

Thank you, Paulafv, for the nice compliment. As for the dogs, they give much more to me than I to them.....dog hair, slobber, mud...just kidding. They keep you young (or worn out)
