A little 5x7 of my favorite dog, who happens to be the cutest in the world. Yes, she can fit that ball in her mouth. :D I thought I'd share the WIP. C&C welcome, of course.

Your little girl is adorable! She looks like she could be a real hand full, on a good day. Great work.

Oh my gosh, a beautifully painted, adorable little baby!! I want her and your painting!
02-18-2008, 11:29 AM
Thanks Smoker and Tracey.
She is a sweetie, but no longer a baby. She's almost 11 years old. Still acts like a puppy, though. I didn't include them in my painting, but her cataracts are the only thing that gives away her age.

I just want to pick her up and hug her! I like the way you blended the tennis ball and her coat. Good tag on her collar, too.

Oh, what a Sweetie, and you have given her such a wonderful personality, especially the eyes. Very well painted. Linee!! :D

Thanks Lucie and Sharron. Now I have to do her two "sisters"...two tortise- shell calico cats. :)

Linda, she is absolutely adorable---definitely gives my pooch a run for his money in the cuteness department! Great idea to paint her with her favorite ball.

nice. adorable pup, even if she is 11 years. Nicely done.

I wonderful painting of a cute little dog.I love these big eyes.

Thanks Jamie. She's never far from her ball. The little tufts of fabric sticking out from the ball is how she often carries it around. :)
Thank you, Howard and Vanche. :)

And I will bet the tennis ball is always there waiting to be thrown!
What a cutie!
Nice work Linee....you captures her mischievoiusness.

 Cute pooch painting, Linda - great texture on the dog and I love the fraying of the tennis ball-excellent touch! :D

Thanks Kathleen and Elizabeth. :)

See... this is the dog I wanted. Instead DH wanted our ginormous German Shepherd! (I still love her ;))
Adorable painting! Love that you included her ball - shows the scale of little precious.
oh she's adorable!!! Love that little heart-shaped nose:)
Beautifully painted Linda, and thanks for the wip, very interesting to see your approach and the colours you've used for each layer.
My little dachsy plays with a tennis ball too, although he'd rather play with pears that fall from the tree because he can eat them! lol

I love it....it is so cute, and she just hovers there waiting for the ball to roll or be thrown....wonderful job!

MrsG, Lulu, Susan, Michelle, Debbie, Gayle, and Maureen...thank you! I'm glad you like her. I had to really talk my hubby into getting her a decade ago. He's glad he did, even though he likes big dogs. :)

Very nice work on your doggie Linda:) She looks so sweet!!
Beautifully painted. I like the involvement of the support's weave in the painting.

Thanks for the Wip. Very nicely done. Love dogs, especially cute ones like Emma.

My little baby dog is 6 now, but she still likes to be treated like a baby. I just love spoiling the little rascals. My hubby likes big dogs too and he says our chihuahua looks poisonous.
I keep coming back to look at your adorable painting.

this is really nice linda--thanks for loading the in progress pics too. how sure your brushwork is--i really like it. you really caught her in the picture--its interesting--i can tell by her eyes that she is an older girl--but she doesn't look "old" in the painting. very good job of conveying that. I also REALLY like your use of blue in the painting. very sweet and eloquent image. chris

Good painting , Linda. You're getting almost impressionistic:D
02-19-2008, 01:25 PM
Soo cute :)...great colors on the fur! Looking forward to see the sisters (cats) now.

Thank you, Chris, for your kind words. :)
Peter, I've got a long way to go, I think. Some days I hold the brush looser than others. ;)
Thanks, Soni! :) Her little "sisters" love her, but she merely tolerates them.
