Thought that would grab your attention folks...
To all you glass craft artists..... I really love the amazing works of art I am seeing here, wanted to tell all of you how in awe I am of your work, very inspiring!! Can't see me taking it up, as have so much else I have to improve on in general art, let alone something so specialised!!!!
Well Done Everyone!!!!!!!

Thanks, gnu and inkling, WC is a great resource. I am going to have to get cable just to keep up here.

hehe boy you guys are going to give me fantasies of graduer! hehe. I am just happy to have found Wetcanvas, it feels so good to have somewhere that is fun to talk in! I want to get more over here, but I am waiting until the article is published and we have our own area to advertise again, I don't want to get into trouble by overdoing it if you know what I mean. The mixed media area would very fast become the glass area and that wouldn't be fair to everyone else here....Hopefully Scott is monitoring this! hehe I wrote him a couple of days ago! He is pretty surprised by the amount of us here! hehe

OH MIKE those mushrooms are really lovely! NEAT!

I agree, Laura, Wet Canvas is a great resource to be involved in!

I like the huge variety of artforms represented here, and I like being able to talk to artists in all of them. I hope we can have a hot glass area in the future, only because I don't want the folks who frequent this forum to feel like they've been invaded. However, I *do* like to mingle and exchange ideas with all artists. I think the potential for intra-art inspiration and collaboration is a fabulous possibility for all!

Mag :)

This glasswork is amazing, and everyone just seems to have popped out of the woodwork.
I think it would be good if you got your own forum, then we could go and look at just glasswork ( not that you NOT welcome here ) :D
I have LOVED looking at this stuff.
Keep posting so that I can keep enjoying.

Due to power in numbers :D plus the very specialized nature of glass art, I'd say you'll have your own forum, and I'd say all of you wonderful glass artists deserve your own forum. The forums don't really segregate as much as they organize and contain. It'd be nice to see all of the glass art posts in one place, eventually. That way, when I want to look at glass art, I don't have to hunt and peck my way through.

Mike, this mushroom bead is marvelous!

You know, if you guys use the uploader instead of attaching your photos, they will copy along with the text of the quote. The other thing is, if I want to scroll down while posting, to check a few more things about the post I'm replying to and maybe comment on other details, I'll be able to see the photos along with the posts. :)

Personally I don't care where you all post....as long as you post here at Wet Canvas!!! :D

Fabulous work and I just love looking and dreaming about one day being able to make such marvelous creations!

Actually tho....it would be nice to have all the glass related threads in one place....like Eileen said....we wouldn't have to hunt and peck to find them :D Especially with the number of glass artists here growing by leaps and bounds every day!!

Mike:

I love the double mushroom pendent. I haven't seen one with more than a single mushroom. COOL

Laura,
there are lots of people doing more than one mushroom. Most the mushroom beads I see are boro. The trick is to get two or more next to each other. In this case getting the mushrooms to sit on the same ground. The overall shape of this bead is not all that good but that is what one gets when you experiment.
Laura's bead is also keeping track of you, Harold. I see Richard is checking things out here, thats cool also.

Hey Mike,

Re:"I see Richard is checking things out here, thats cool also."

Yes, I think his skill, knowledge and generosity will be valued here.

hehe you guys are so funny!

I like doing those types of beads alot!

I have done a few mushrooms, but haven't been to successful, I sold them ok, but they could have been better overall, like you said growing out of the same plane would be good!

I would love to see Laura explain how she does the eye thing!

Laura Brito

The eye thing is the easiest thing of them all! hehe, all you do it put down a dot, poike the dot in the center, cover the dot with a do or clear or transparent. Melt it in good, and you have a bubble in the middle. Real simple! hehe

Am I missing something here ? The forums list shows Glass Art. Is that not your own separate forum?

Hi Jo,

I think this thread was started before they move us to our own place for being too rowdy. ;)

As a watercolorist, I find the stuff being posted in the glass forum just fascinating. What a great idea to have a glass forum and how nice all you lovely people have found your way to WetCanvas!
