View Full Version : The Rose

This painting is #4 in my flower series. It is 20 x 24 inches on stretched canvas in acrylic. This one nearly drove me crazy and I am not sure if I am really finished, but here it is. The background is actually a deep burnt sierra. I can't seem to get the photograph right. Any suggestions for improvement will be appreciated.

I think this is lovely! My only crit is that it looks like the very bottom petal or two got a bit overworked, but I'm not sure how accurate the photo is . . . ?

Thanks to everyone for the lovely comments. This one was quite challenging for me but I am glad it turned out ok.

Just love all the different colors in this. It reminds me of the Dale Chihuly rose I have in my front garden. Of course it is under four feet of snow right now. But this inspires me to paint the blossoms in the spring. Beautiful work.
