Hello.

i have found this store box :
http://www.greatart.co.uk/PASTELSTORAGEBOXES-pastel-boxes-drawing.htm

I have tryed to order , but because i am outside from UK, i can't directly order because of the calculating of the shipping cost.

I have send a e-mail to seller but not response.

Knows someone where else can i order a store box Like this(with separate foam for each oilpastel?

blick and Jerry haven't this box.

thanks.

Nico, check out this box at Blick http://www.dickblick.com/zz228/29/
and this site also, http://www.dakotapastels.com/boxes.shtml
I haven't seen any exactly like the one you had a picture of. I have a Cassat box from Blick that I like a lot because it doesn't have separators. It has foam top and bottom, but this way I can arrange my pastel the way I want. Here is a picture.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/09-Feb-2008/35760-box.jpg

I haven't seen a box like that before. I use an ArtBin plastic pastel box which has three layers of trays with single spaces for each OP. I like it because the hard plastic can be cleaned with OMS. Here's a link:

I recently bought a Degas Pastel storage "box", which is actually a wooden "box" that folds open and one end has wooden flaps that are held in place by magnets. These open (on hinges) and each side of the box stores 2 heavy cardboard storage boxes which each hold 48 pastels with foam top, bottom and individual foam compartments. The case has a handle and shoulder strap and the internal boxes can be put back in open so that you can have your pastels accessible. The case and 4 compartment boxes can usually be found for about $50 on sale and additional interchangeable boxes to fit into the case are available for about $5. It is a little on the larger side, but is very light and holds lots of pastels. You might check out this at the following links to Jerry's Artarama:

Jerrys give the dimensions as follows:
Open: 30.5 x 18.5
Closed: 15.25 x 18.5 x 3.5
Weight (empty): 9.25lbs.

Nico,

greatart.co.uk is nothing but the English branch of gerstaecker.de a huge German art supply store. So if you want an answer from them you should try to contact the headquarter itself([email protected]). However, keep in mind that they have a minimum order value (99,- euro) for customers outside Germany/Austria/Switzerland/UK.
That said it means that you would have to buy at least two big empty boxes or perhaps an empty box and a set of oilpastels? :wink2:

Hello Silvia.

I know, i had post the English Site because of our english friends here in forum.

After a few e-mails to gerstaecker, and without reactions, i search anywhere else this box.

Look in your hardware store or food storage stores for alternatives for pastel storage. You can easily convert one for the other and at a considerable savings. An artist should be able to convert from one to the other.

Check out my next pastel box: (scroll down) http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6389439&postcount=99

I haven't given away the smoked salmon yet, but all it needs is a pink packing foam liner.
