View Full Version : Using PVA as a glazing medium.

I am attending a seminar on abstract painting and the tutor has told us to use top quality PVA glue as a glazing medium. This would seem to be more economic than buying gloss glaze medium from a paint manufacturer. It seems to work from the exercise that we did, so I wondered if anybody has used it and has any comments on its use.

Ah, but then you would have to post in the "Mixed Media" forum:wave:

I believe that PVA may stay water soluble even after drying.
Glazing medium won't be soluble without some serious effort.
An archival PVA will be nearly the same price.
Consider that anything less may not be worth using.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
