Here's one from a few years ago that I recently pulled out the closet. Acrylic background, oil foreground. 16" X 20" C&C appreciated.

Really really nice!! Great composition.

Just a question - why the change in medium?

Love the depth you created with the further blurred flowers and the nearer sharp flowers. Great stuff.

I like it a lot! Very nice subject, composition, colour and execution.

Is there a reason for using acrylic and oils? I usually paint an acrylic underpainting with oil on top but have never thought about using both on the finished article. Looks effective though!

I was hoping the oil front would seem to pop out from the acrylic back. I'm not sure if it would have made a difference had I painted it entirely in oils. But whatever, it looks good enough. Also, this was only the second time I had used oils. I wanted to hurry up and get the background done and dry so I could move on the the fun part and play around with the oil paints.

Everyone is extremely encouraging. The more time I spend on this site, the more I'm inspired to paint. You all have incredible stuff and interesting techniques and styles. I'm gathering quite a bit of info here. Thanks a lot.

Wow! I love it. Peacocks are such beautiful birds. We used to have a small flock of them. They were so fun to watch and photograph. Your painting really captures the way one looks.
