Here's a silly little thing I did with my granddaughter, over the weekend.

Here is a heart postcard, lots of metallics in this piece of work and they are not showing up too well.

Just love the hearts dog lead and collar. My beagle would be too embarrassed to be seen in this, though!

 Actually, so would mine :o, but, who can argue with a 5 year old's love of bright color? Not me, or the dog, I'm sure. She's sure gonna like all the compliments her handiwork has received though!!!

Oh heavens no! Playing with her is the just about the only way I can experience the rejuvenating joy of pure, unadulterated, blissful, childhood play.

Hey love the hat, so classy! Here's my submission, it's not a heart but it is titled
"My Bloody Valentine" circa 2004 ( I was 21) it's my response to "That Time of the Month" on V-day. Surprisingly have had a lot of success with this peice in the gay-bi galleries. HAHA! :p Hand dyed and felted wool.

Maureen, I love your postcard! And Rachael, yours is wonderful -- have you ever seen Judy Chicago's "Dinner Party?" She used this kind of imagery to great effect (and shocked the heck out of many) in that piece. Here's a link, if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dinner_Party

Later... I see that link doesn't show images of the place settings, Rachael, so try this: http://www.throughtheflower.org/page.php?p=10&n=2

Thanks Rose Queen! I have seen some of Ms. Chicago's "Dinner Party" but not as much as I'd like to. I just love her imagery. Gosh I am having a brain fart but wasn't she part of the "Guerilla Girls" movement? Or am I making that up, can't remember my art history.

I don't know if she was a member of the Guerilla Girls, Rachael, and they're so secretive about their membership that I doubt we could find out. I remember seeing "Dinner Party" at the Guggenheim when it first came out and then again, I think in San Francisco later on. It was a powerful piece of art, I must say.

Love all these projects
I think colorful leash is lots of fun I think any-dog would be proud to wear something made with so much love.
Postcard is breathtaking - I have no words to describe its beauty,

Bloody Valentine is wonderful. Love the hand-died felt. Reminds me of art I created in college. great piece.
