Can someone tell me what is the differences between Professional Crayons vs. Pastels???

I think it's the binder for the most part.
Crayons use wax.
Oil pastels use wax and oil.
Hard and soft pastels use things like clay, chalk, talc, gum something-or-other. Stuff like that.
Some crayons and oil pastels are water-soluble. Not sure if they still use wax, since I don't think water and wax mix.

I have been using Conte Crayons but, they feel like soft pastel.
I just wanted to know if this was true.

Conte crayons are a hard pastel. A very hard pastel. I was thinking you were refering to the artist-grade crayons from Caran D'Ache and Staedler.
