View Full Version : Might be a stupid question.

Ok here is my dilema. My local art store doesnt supply any sanded papers (ahem...I am in Malta.......), so I will have to make my own. My question is this:
They mostly stock canvas and fabriano paper and I was wondering if I could use the canvas for my pastels. I guess I would have to prepare the surface first, but with what, and how?
I have read about using sand or carborundum powder to prepare a textured surface on paper, would I go about preparing the canvas in the same way? (pva glue and sprinkle on the sand). Or am I just pulling at straws here, in a hope that I can get a good sanded surface on canvas to replace the sanded papers that I cant get from the art store.
