First, I'm cross-posting this from the ATC/ACEO forum. I could not find information about cross posting, so if it's a no-no, moderators, please feel free to remove the thread.

Done based on a photo I took during a two weeks canoe trip in Algonquin park in the fall of 1993'ish, with my late cousin.

It is ATC format (3.5"x2.5") on Fabriano 300gms Rough, using Winsor & Newton paints only.

I'm quite pleased with this very first ATC I've done. The water is much better than anything I've done to date as far as water goes, although it *could* be a little darker nearer the tree line.

As usual, C&C more than welcome. :)

Perhaps a unifying wash over the trees? You can also rewet the lake with clean water and at the appropriate time put in the darker reflections. Another good way to liven up a lake is to use a damp flat brush on edge to wash out a horizontal wind streak.

Thanks Doug, I'll try that later this morning :)

 Hi! Gypsy, Good for yo, Doug gives you good advice and it's a good time to try while you're happy with this and know that it 'could" use a little darkening, we grow! Happy first! Enjoy. Regards, Marianne

This is sure a beautiful reference! And, to capture all that on such a small size is no small challenge! :) You simplified a lot of the detail and that's a good thing...

Thanks Char and Marianne :)

Here is the reworked version. A layer of green added to the trees, and darkening of the water areas.

Doug, thank you again for your advice :)
