I don't know if this should be posted on still life, or western.Haven't posted on either before. I feel more at home here. C+C welcomehttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/11-Jan-2008/126952-January_08_0111.jpg

"I don't know if this should be posted on still life, or western."

It's a western-themed still life. Works in either category. And it's well-done, BTW!

Thanks Evelyn and Mark for looking and commenting. When nobody replies it makes you wonder. It's a 14x11 oil on canvas from life. -Mark:)

What made you pick that combination, since ye said was from life?

Robert- I think the skull has quite a lively expression

Well, that still life definitely belongs here. Absolutely wonderful work!
Looking forward to seeing more!

Very well done! Good job. Yes, it is bewildering that so many people view these posts and only a handful respond in writing; usually the same posters on every channel over and over. I like your combination of the slick red apple with the bony skull as it makes for an unusual textural grouping, plus the soft wool? blanket. Nice, nice, nice! It works either still life or western but is more the latter IMO. Love it!
