This was started at the sketch group I attend on Tuesday mornings. I had a fairly good drawing with shading done at the end of a 3 hour session. I finished it from some photos I took. I used mostlyhttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/30-Dec-2007/69642-Marion.jpg http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/30-Dec-2007/69642-Marion_clsup.jpg hard pastels and pastel pencils. Support is recycled Wallis paper. I do see a few things that I might change, one being the shadow on her left cheek, it appears a bit too harsh. Thanks for looking. c&c welcome. Sharon

I'm not a portrait expert, quite the opposite, so I'll just say that her right arm needs some working. At least that's what it seems to me.
Otherwise you did a terrific work. I especially like the foreshortness (does this word exists ?) of the legs and the convincing curvature of her tigh over the leg. The characterists of the feminin body are quite well portraied.

You"ve done a great job on this!

Very very nice and I see that finishing it off from the photo wasn't a problem for you.
I noticed that the back of the chair below her right arm seems a little dark and almost reads as if it's the rest of her body - perhaps it's just me or the photo.
Tremendous - give yourself a huge pat on the back and take the compliments - they are worthwhile!!!

Thanks for your comments and words of advise. Jose, I agree with you about her right arm and I am in the progress of giving it some more form. Barb, I will try lightening up the back of the chair a bit, I think that will help. Thanks for the compliment Alicia. Sharon
