Over the last few days a few people on WC (who shall remain nameless) have been discussing Lumpia.....what is it?

I believe it's a Filipino recipe; here's one for you to try if you're adventurous in the kitchen, although I don't know how authentic it is!

Here in Holland they have things called Loempia which are kinda like an Indonesian version of spring-rolls. I guess they are similar to Lumpia.

Heres a link to a pic of 'fancy looking' Loempia :)

Not bad rose, those are close, though we don't use bean sprouts in that particular one, and the patis (anchovie fish sauce is very very salty, you don't need it)... plus i make 2 other kinds... wait till i get to Draig's, we'll take pictures of us eating them... and if you're good prepping them...

Nelly, i couldn't translate that, those aren't very pretty either, you can always tell if a spring roll is good by how it's wrapped. If it's too loose, it'll bubble and look like those. If they're being chinsey on the filling, you'll bite into a really crispy "air" lumpia, i like over stuffing them, and using 1/2 a wrapper, that way you get nothing but YUMMMMMM :D

Well I stayed in the city the night of Draigathar's show, at my friend Leisa's in Chinatown (NYC), so in the morning she asked me if I wanted eggs for breakfast or DIM SUM?
Yeah right... tough choice...

Along with her friend Rhett, we ate $50 worth... it was not hard to do :D

Considering I made those lumpia for Draigathar's show, minutes before I stepped out the door, I knew I couldn't eat any... this well made up for it...

Anyone wanna join me?
