Happy Christmas to all! I've posted a painting here and on my blog that I painted as a Christmas present for my daughter's cello playing boyfriend; it's a constructivist style abstract, and I am really, really pleased with how it came out! I'd love to hear opinions about it! Thanks!

 I'm thinking 'Michael' really has fun playing that cello

love the shapes, great funky balance, pretty good colors, but the brown looks wishy washy (perhaps it's the photo) might improve with another coat, maybe vertical lines to illude to wood grain, maybe not

funky fab tho, fun stuff

Muchas gracias!! I left the 'wishy-washy' wood that way because I thought it gave a nice contrast to the woody portion of the painting...it looks better in person.

I enjoy how it is going in different directions. color helps to add attention to the cello...........Good job but what can you do with a piano?..........John

My comment was to be about the "wishy-washy", but you have already addressed that. I hope your daughter's boyfriend cherishes this painting and cherishes your daughter as well. Happy New Year.
