Hey guys! I'm not dead, just was swamped with school and substitute teaching etc... I did start in on the stippling again. For obvious reasons I call this one "Acid Sphere"

Taking a little break from the Debates forum, eh Greg? Good to see some of the old faces popping back in again!

Off to a good start.

No, the fine liners are .3 so the dots are bigger (duh) but they have nice colors and don't dry out. Although I had one student steal one and I killed another one as well grading papers. Plus you get interesting patterns. I used the fine liners in the pool/shadow under the sphere..

Robert, actually it was a break from art, you'd be surprised by the amount of grading you do with 260+ students. This last week I was back to day to day so the amount of work was much less and I could start drawing again.

I like the look of your drawing. It reminds me of something you might see in a fantasy piece by Boris Vallejo.

Vallejo? Wow, never thought of that. In reality it was a pool ball, (10) and I had it all sketched in and it just didn't look interesting so I started erasing and re-drawing and ended up with that drawing. I love Vallejo's work, stunning colors and great anatomy.

Vallejo - yeah - now if I could only get an assistant like that, my life be made......:evil::lol::lol:

Brave? Nuts is probably more accurate Paul. And it's nice to be back, even if it's only for a couple of weeks.

Greg - I'm still alive too, but working on other projects. It is a great start. I'm really happy to see another artist working in color ink. Nice work. - Marc

Thanks Marc. I do love color, and this little drawing has been lots of fun to do. I already have my next two projects lined up. Three when I get ink for my printer again!

OK, The sphere is finished and now I'm down to the background. Hopefully I'll finish it today and start in on my next drawing.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/24-Dec-2007/23340-acid_sphere.jpg
I upped the levels a bit to bring more of the color and details out.

Let me know what you think.

Here is the finished image. I think this is about 10 hours or so of work.
