A country road near my place.
On orange mi-teintes.
I am not too pleased with this one.

Dima...this has all of your signature style with the expressive line work, and the composition is really nice. Why aren't you happy with this one?

Fine job there, Dima! I like your use of highlights and leaving small traces of the paper's color here and there. I don't see the reason why you're not so pleased with it.

Thanks for your comments.
The reason I was somewhat dissatisfied with this one is the combination of too many nervous lines combined with the lack of strong or dark colour to counter the overall orange glow.

Yes, I think you are right about it lacking in tonal value range. Apart from the dark on the tree trunks, everything is very much in the middle. Working in more lights and darks would definitely help.

But this is a terrific composition. Very unusual to have the trees split the picture like that and you're using dramatic perspective to such wonderful effect. It's really very good. :)

Do you think you will work on this some more or is it done?

Sandra, I am not sure if I'll come back to this one and rework it.
I might also redo the whole scene from scratch on a different coloured paper sometime.
