This is my first try with technical pens, i nabbed a set off of ebay. Mars staedleter or something like that. when they came in the mail i decided to draw little bit and ended up crosshatching for 6 hours straight, with one dr. pepper break :)

i've never tried cross hatching before - i usually draw very linearly, but wanted a break from the norm. looking at it hanging on the wall of shame i see many things i'd do differently, but it was a a good excersize.

its about 11" tall and 4" wide, with the .25 and .35 points and a little bit of sharpie, which I'll avoid next time because it photographs differnetly then the tech pen ink.

the source image was found with a google image search for 'angel' but i cant seem to find it anymore. the statue is in 30th street station in philadelphia. its the "Pennsylvania Railroad World War II Memorial" by Walker Hancock.

Here's a scan and a photo - it doesn't digitize very well!

Any help is appreciated, please!
