View Full Version : WDE Dec. 7: Bladder Campion
Polygon

It's funny, I took photos of a lot of wildflowers this summer to use for later reference, but when I looked at the bladder campions among the rest of what the local roadside ditch had to offer me, thought "Nah, I'd never paint one of those." But dupliKate, your photo has made me reconsider! Poor, neglected little bladder campion, so delicate and worthy, yet always overlooked. I think a better name might improve it's PR a bit, but still...
Golden fluid acrylics, 6" square, stretched canvas, maybe around an hour?

It is bladder campion...that's what I thought it was, but the wildflower book I looked in had a really bad photo reference. Thank you for identifiying it for me !
Your painting is lovely...delicate and lacey. Just lovely.

Maybe just call it by its botanical name, Silene -- much more appealing, don't you think?
You did a lovely job on this unloved plant, btw!

It is lovely and delicate with your rendition. Good to have the proper name, just in case we need it down the road.

I agree with Jane, Nancy,.
Like here in Bkk., they seldom could sell plants with not so nice name until after they changed the name, sold like hot cakes.

Exquisite. I said to the other poster doing this flower that it is 'mouse-power', the small and delicate making a 'roar'. You did fantastically well in making them glow!
