View Full Version : Looking for a title

First I would like to thank N Brockman for the beautiful photo from our image library. I am looking for a title for this one. I would also love to hear any suggestions for improvement. This portrait was done on Mi Teintes paper (flannel grey) and a wide variety of pastels and pastel pencils. Thanks for any help you can give me. Terri

What a beautiful portrait. What about " Me, unlucky??" "who's holding who?"

Thanks for posting this Terri, it's such a great little story piece. Your flesh tones are always so soft and you have a way with capturing expressive eyes. How about, "No, I don't want to put him down."???

Your work is quite beautiful. I love the colors in the background against the ginger hair. The only thing I can come up with is ‘My Kitty And I’.... She really looks like she loves that cat…and he looks quite happy to be cuddled.

This is beautiful. How about "I love you too"

"Red and Black in Blue"

How cute is this! Very nice!!! Well, if she is typical of what seems to be the age of around 2 or 3 years old, I would go with "Mine."
Great portrait...love the expression.

Great work on Canson. I can't get that paper to work for me yet. Grrr. :)
As for a title.

Hi Terri, what a beautiful painting, as usual. I just love the softness you can achieve. How about "Friends Forever"? Cats are such very special people...

beautiful painting :) I vote for "Mine" too

:) Hi terry, this is wonderful! love this ! those eyes! ..i like how you did the kitty so that it doesn't take too much away from the main subject...as far as a name goes...can't help in that department...but you've done an outstanding job.....!!

I'm lousy with titles, but it is a gorgeous portrait!

Wow Terri - this is stunning! Love it - I vote for "Mine" or "All Mine" - awesome job!

That is a touching piece, and your use of colour is brilliant!

Absolutely beautiful pose, great painting - good coloring and I applaud you for doing this on canson paper.
"Mine" isn't that all they say at that age anyway?

I love this piece, beautiful use of colour. There have been so many great title suggestions you may be hard pressed to choose one!

How gorgeous! love the expressive eyes! Well done, on Canson, too! Can't suggest a better title than already has been posted, other than "I love little pussy".

I vote for I Don't Think So. Great job by the way

When I go home from work every day, one of my cats always reaches up for me to pick him up. When I do, he gives me a hug and snuggle and I always whisper "I love you too".
I think that would be a good title: I love you too!

Adorable portrait/painting. Soft, colourful, lovely.
"Mine"/"All Mine" is good, as there is an ambiguity as to who is who's (or whom's?). "Love you too" is adorable. I second all three of them! :-)
Suggest "He just followed me home", as she's defiantly pleading with her eyes.

Wow, I just love everything about this...great color harmony and such expressive eyes!!! I'll add my vote for Mine/All Mine. :)

Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions. I had originally thought "Mine" as well, but there are some great ideas here to choose from. I have a hard time thinking of titles and this forum has so many talented people, it is a wonderful place to get help. Thanks again, Terri

Beautiful portrait! How about..."Don't worry, that doggy won't hurt you" :D
12-08-2007, 11:20 AM
how about the tittle For the love of little red
12-08-2007, 05:22 PM
The first thought I had when I saw that classic two expression was "MY kitty", so I guess I'm in the "Mine" camp! Those eyes and that hair-- wonderful portrait of a child with very definite ideas!

Keep the title simple..."Mine" is an excellent choice.
Lovely painting by the way.
