There is a lot of encouragement here!
I was asked to include some info about my paintings.
Prefer Arches paper 140lb rough. Use the rough most of the time, it seems to lend itself better to nature.
This painting of the loading gate is approximately 10 x 12 inches.
I really enjoyed the texture of the wood and tried hard to convey it.
Need all the helpful hints I can get.

Very nice picture. Wood texture looks great!

I like the sky, the subject of the corral gate, and the sun shining on the grasses in the foreground.

I wonder if the tree on the right in the distance should be changed (less colorful), so as to indicate distance. Can't find problems with this one; very well done.

Brings back some memories!

I think you did great with this painting, especially the texture of the wood loading dock. I'm sure I'd get a splinter if I ran my hand along the railing. The shadows under the dock are perfect. This looks like an area near Malvern, AR, my mom's hometown. Looking forward to more of your work.

You painted two of my favorite elements - old wood and landscape!! I think it's an excellent painting... wish I had it on my wall!! I think I concur with KL that the farthest tree would look better with some of the color lifted to make it recede... Otheriwise.... well done!!
