Hi everyone!
I was thinking of using an image editor for planning my paintings, since along with composition, I would like to plan the colors to be used.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding a software you eventually use?

Thank you in advance.
Best regards.

I'm going to send a copy of this thread to the 'Composition and Design' forum. Be sure to check there because the replies will be different from the ones here. You may also want to ask this in the 'Computer Technology' forum.

I and many amateurs and CG people use PSP Paint Shop Pro sold by Jasc. You can d/l a demo for free on their site. I use it as my primary editing proggy, along with some other more advanced, complicated, and expensive programs. It retails for $99

I too use PSP mostly for image editing...

I'm learning photoshop and sometimes wind up switching back and forth between the two on a single work.
