Here is anoher one of mine. Can you tell that I finally got around to taking photos of the stack of paintings I had in my studio? Fortunately for all of you I am going on vacation soon, so you will get a break! :D This one is Woodland Path - 16 x 20 - Oil on canvas. Done over several 2 hour sessions, as is my habit.

Thanks Wayne. Sorry about the size, I was trying to keep it under 100K at 72 res, like a good girl, and this is the size I get for some reason. I admit to being a little clueless on the computer. How do you manage to do it?

Marvelous Brenda!!

I DO understand about being computer challenged, my picture files are huge and having to resize them can be real interesting.
But I'd love to see more of the detail if you can figure how to get larger scans.

Gee .. I never ever gave it a though about res .. I just take in into PSP and resize it to a 500 Max Width or a 400 Max Height .. I didn't even know there was a res factor. Will have to check what I am doing.

Oh Goodie, I'm glad it's better. What's that old saying? "If at first you don't succeed, try try again." Story of my life. Still like the original painting much better though. Thanks Cathleen!:D

Ah yes, the picture only shows a little better than half of what the painting shows as too many shades get lost in the translation.

Looks great and I would love it if you could show the painting.

Beautiful painting, Brenda-----I just have to ask, what is the white on the ground?

Thanks for all your kind your kind comments:D Makes me glad to be accepted in the forum that I love!

Phyllis Renie, Ha Ha. I knew when I posted this that someone was going to ask that question... Looks like snow doesn't it? :D
Actually it is white sand. The oak trees leach every bit of organic matter out of the earth and leave the sand here in Florida as white as snow. It is actually blinding in full summer sun! All the subtleties are lost in the reproduction though. There were warms and cools in it the original to tone it down a bit I promise!
Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the explanation. I never thought about sand. I was so busy trying to figure out how you got snow in the same scene with all that tropical foliage. :D :D :D

Brenda, Another wonderful painting. I love the spanish moss hanging from the trees.( hope it's sp. moss, 'cause I thought the sand was snow, too!) :)

You sure have a great way of pulling off winning paintings.
