I havenīt been here on the forum for weeks. Now the website kindly invites me to post something.

This here is one of my more recent drawings. I havenīt had the time and technical opportunities to scan my works for over one year now. So much work and not the time to choose and buy a really good DinA3 (!) scanner. So, this will have to do as an example of what Iīm up to at the moment. Enjoy!

Great to see you back, Sebastian. This is a nice figure drawing. Your cross hatching is very good.

Thanks a lot for all your replies. Very friendly, too. Actually, I also like my hatchings in this particular work :)

Very nice figurative work. It looks like an illustration for a book. Was it?

No, itīs rather a would-be illustration. Iīm still to undisciplined and unskilled to really illustrate a whole book. Do you - or does anyone here? - have any advice how to go about all that preliminary work? How do book illustrators start? Scribbling while reading? Splitting up the text into segments? Noting down key scenes? What do you think - or know?
