I may have posted this painting in another forum a while back, but I just wanted to brag cuz it just won 1st Place in the oils category in a juried show.:smug: It also won Second Best of Show, and it's sold! I took 2nd Place in oils with a nude. Happy day.

I love it Coyote! And can just picture the dust trail behind the truck...
I hope your nude had fewer cacti though.

It's wonderful, Todd... You definitely deserve bragging rights!!! Can you tell us which juried show so that maybe some can visit it in the 'flesh'?

Absolutely captures the scene, I can smell the clean air and feel the breezes, and feel the jolts! Of course this was a winner, what else could it be.
congratulations on all the awards and the sale, feels s0-00-00 good doesn't it?

Coyote--nice piece! Congrats on the win. (I can't tell if Sweet Pea is on a dirt road or if s/he is totally four-wheelin' it!)

Coyote - Congrats!!! Nice work indeed! Very deserving!

Wow, congratulations, this is a wonderful piece! This scene reminds me of the time my husband and I went looking at "cheap" property in Kingman, AZ. The realators SUV was a pretty sturdy trooper getting us through and in and out and around the so called "roads". Mind you this was my idea, and I really learned about desert property that day!
I love the composition of this piece, and how you've captured the haze in the background, which is exactly how it is out there! Esp. on a windy, dusty day!
Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for all the nice comments.
The show will be up through December 16th at the Lakes & Valleys Gallery in Lake Hughes, California. There's a map somewhere on our out of date and horribly maintained website: www.lakesandvalleysartguild.com
There was no road in this picture, just desert.
