Christmas is coming up so I put together a painting for the front of a greeting card. Feels odd working on Christmas stuff in November.

Anyway, I thought I'd share the proccess with an animation and a final pict. Well, almost final. I am still not finished with the silver ball on the left.

Here is my newly revised addition. Just played around with the silver ball and added a few more highlights around the page.

Mike,

You must be a speed painter. The animation is so cool! It would be like receiving a gift, receiving this card. I'm officially in the mood now!

OUTSTANDING!!! I was smiling and laughing and trying to figure out what was wrong with my monitor and then loving every step.

I feel like I just received the perfect Christmas Card. The sheen and reflections are wonderful.

Take a look at the bulb on the upper right top - large one - does it's shape look a little off? It's minor and probably is that shape - it just reads a little odd.

THANKS FOR THE SMILE!!! :)

Yes, you are correct on that one. Thanks for the eyes. I still want to adjust the silver ball a little so i will correct the gold one as well.

Good one, Mike!

Hey, can you share how to make the animation? Maybe point me to a source? I'd love to include one on my web page or blog....

Those 3 larger bulbs are protecting those gorgeously painted three smaller bulbs....the darks are really striking in this. Love that burgundy bulb.
Very nice!

If you google 'photoshop animation' there are quote a few that come up.

There is this video on youtube thought that explains it well.

You can ignore the talk about "tweening" if you are just using satatic images to do WIP animations. Just set the timing between frames as .5sec.

You do need Photoshop CS2 though.
