Experimenting with pastelgrounds, this is MDF-board on which I put pumice in acrylic medium (Golden matte medium).
Did take a few layers but is now saturated I think.

Would anyone advice a different colour or lighter value for the sky?

Actually I like the sky alot. It looks like there is a rain storm over the water to me. :)

Dick...love that wave...you did a superb job especially on rendering the translucency of the water within. However, I feel there isn't enough connection between the sky and the water. I love the sky, but I think more of the sky colors reflected in the water, like some of the pinks and yellows, would tie the two together more. Just my novice opinion tho! :D

Thanks Inkling and KarenU.
The sky was a problem with this one as it was supposed to be a 'bright summer's day sky' and that as you can see is not how it turned out.
I am myself a novice with pastels and this was an experiment with a selfmade ground which I felt was almost saturated.
Now I think I could clean the sky part with a hogbristle brush and start anew, but that did'nt occur to me at the moment.
(Haven't tried that yet, cleaning and correcting parts that way)
