Wow! Everything is so bright and powerful here. This is packed full of energy because the top and distant fronds act like focus lines that pull my eyes back to the middle of the painting. The almost abstract bright yellows and greens on the left are my favourite bit and the white blobs on the lower right are good too, they do look like flowers from a distance. My least favourite bit is the dark blue in the main three red roses. The colours in those blooms look mushy compared to the rest of the picture BUT you might make it look worse by going there again. Take care.

Kate
This is enjoyable on a very elemental level, as flowers should be.
Nicely done

I love it that you went pretty much abstract with the solving of this vase of flowers. Very nice...!

And congrats on the TV interview. You'll probably get busy beyond belief now. (Loved the quote about Elivs, the late poochie, having left the building...:O)))

Hi Kate, I enjoyed the visit into your studio very much! I feel as if I have gotten to know you a bit. Keep the nice animal paintings going and pursue the flower stuff for pleasure!

Here you see what happens to a painting when an artist has few canvases and lots of time on her hands

Great to see you on TV in sort of real life. Nice vase of flowers. Wonder if one of the roses could be made lighter to distinguish it from the rest as in the reference color (the roses are separated). Vibrant painting.
