I took a workshop last week "Printing Potpouri". This is a dry point I did. JoAnn

Copper plate? Aren't you amazed at how much ink is left on the plate when it is barely visible just B4 you printed it?

It helped me on dry points to wipe mostly in one direction

Actually this was done on aluminum press plates that we get from alocal printer. Very cheap and easy to work on.

JoAnn,

Dry point is one of my favorite printmaking techniques. I work on aluminum a lot myself when I am doing small editions for the very reason you stated, it is so much cheaper.

I like the portrait you have done here. It is an unsusal pose, and that gives it a lot of interest. Plate tone is something that can enhance a piece, and I tell everyone that they shouldn't try to clean off every spec of ink that isn't in the etched area. Thanks for sharing this piece. I hope you had a great time at the workshop.
