I am so pleased that there is a new place for Southwest Art at WC. Here is a plein air painting I did just outside of the Phoenix area.

Everything about this is beautiful. I especially like the strong contrast between the shadowed and lit areas of the bluffs. There is a strength in the simplicity of this piece. This inspires me to go to a similiar appearing area near me and do some plein aire work.

I know exactly where this is at. I have painted there a few times myself. This didn't happen to be from a class at the Scottsdale Artist School is it? This is a favorite location to take students to. Nice piece.
