View Full Version : wde Oct 19 Am I First?!

Woo hoo  and all the challenges that went with it!
First I'm home with a sick Josie today but she really isnt too bad and I prolly should have sent her to school.
Secondly I decided to paint a couple of ATC's - one is okay the other stinks but I had a lot of paint left that I had sqeezed out so I wasnt gonna let that go to waste so I decide to paint the cows with the paint left over from the ATC's ...
glad you didnt give us a challenge Poly since I challenged myself today :p but yanno I like the cows actually.
The cows are 10x 12 on acrylic canvas paper just as the atc's are -- all painted with acrylic...about 2 1/2 hours for all three.

Wow! Look at you, early bird!!! And three paintings in 2.5 hours!!! I love them all, but those cows are outta-sight!!! (They are exactly the same crop I printed out!) I love the purple! Your cat has the same smug expression that Polygon's cat has!! Good job!!

10-19-2007, 02:53 PM
Love your ATC's ; but my favorite are the cows..
Great composition..and the different shades of blue brings it to life.
Nice work:clap:

(They are exactly the same crop I printed out!) Your cat has the same smug expression that Polygon's cat has!!
Great minds think alike yanno:thumbsup:

Thanks Beth:heart:

Hey speedy! Hope Josie feels better soon. Great little ATC's, esp like the skull. Love the complimentary palette on the cows! They look awesome Angie.

10-19-2007, 03:01 PM
That's my Artie cat all right! I think he'd refer to himself as "regal" :D . You're fast to do three so soon! I love the expression on your cows, they look very friendly and cow-like, when I took the picture they looked kind of comically menacing as they came to investigate the stranger who'd driven down their road. Great skull too, that was a hard reference, and the bit of gentle violet shading gives it shape.

10-19-2007, 03:22 PM
Polygon lol, "regal" "smug " aloof" lol they all fit aye?
I thought the cows looked a little scary too - wonder how mine came out so pleasant?! Thanks for hosting

Li Thanks  LOL, the skull was the stinky one I referred to!

Thank you Chloe - I know Chloe isnt your name but it escapes me at the moment :(

10-19-2007, 03:38 PM
i cant think how you spell the word, but ... i think the picture of the cat definitely shows his 'forebears'... (???) ancestors... he has the bit of the wild one in his aloofness... good job, per usual.. . the skull i'm passing on... BUT you started with 'fore bears' and end with THREE Cows.... how cool... remember that big one of ConnieVan's where the picture is lower to the ground, so they are looking way down at you??? menacing!!! i saw something like that in the photo, but not in yr rendition... you're too sweet....  kor

10-19-2007, 03:43 PM
They are all very good, but the skull is my favourite:)

10-19-2007, 04:02 PM
:clap: I really love the colours used in pussy cat. If you didn't know it was a skull it looks abstract and really nice. And those cute cows....moooooooo:p

As usual Angie, you naturally do some beautiful work. Love looking at it.

10-19-2007, 04:12 PM
These are terrific!!!!!! The blue-brown-orangey/yellow palette is wonderful, I really love it. All those chunky strokes for the cows, wow, they are great, very effective and energizing.

10-19-2007, 04:18 PM
Hey Josie!! Hope you feel better soon!! Your mum sure has been busy...waiting on you, AND doing 3 fabulous paintings! It's about time you joined in!! Definitely good for poorly children!

Angie...I take my hat of to you!! And I applaud all 3 paintings...they're all good!

10-19-2007, 04:45 PM

Angie Girl.....great paintings all of them. Impressed with your skills with Acrylic's. How do you like them?? I'm use to you using Pastel's. :cat:

10-19-2007, 06:59 PM
Love that cat! You got him perfectly. Good composition on the cows and the skull - and all with 2.5 hours. Amazing. But my fav is the cat.

Thank you Shelly, GAil, Joel, Jane, GA Gail, Cheryl, Deidre, ConnieT, another wonderful Jane, ConnieVan, Kordelia, Marita and Penny

Sharron Thanks, I love acrylics because I love using a brush and I like that you cover any thing you want to cover :p - I know my abilities are stronger with pastel but sometimes a girl just needs to branch out.

Marita I think Josie hadd schoolitis

Nonny I had to laugh at the "too sweet" reacon my exhusbands would agree?

10-20-2007, 09:42 AM
wow three! i love all of them, the cat is great, very full of character, i love the boldness of the skull, and the colours, and the cows are great! they've got a nice looseness to them which must come from the " I'll just use up this paint" feeling. hats off to you! ;) :D

10-20-2007, 10:33 AM
Nice ones! My fav has got to be that cat, though. Now what are you gonna do, though? There's all this time left this weekend... maybe three or four more? :-)

10-20-2007, 11:43 AM
Great set Angie

10-20-2007, 11:59 AM

I like all of them... but the cows are my favorite

About that date?

10-20-2007, 09:17 PM
 Hi Angie!

I love the way these all seem to go together because of the use of the same palette. Kitty is proud and pretty, the skull looks really good in blue, but holy cow, I especially like the last one. It's quirky cool!

10-20-2007, 10:35 PM
LOVE the cows, they are soooooo full of life and energy. But the other painting are fantastic too!

10-21-2007, 07:02 AM

10-21-2007, 07:58 AM
Great stuff, Angie! Like 'em all.

10-21-2007, 10:22 AM
First out the gate and with THREE, no less!!!!! You'd better watch it, you might get a ticket from the WDE police! Love Artie! the loose strokes and colour choices are perfect. You captured his cat-itude, very nicely. Cool cari-BOO! skull  just in time for halloween!
The cows are delightful! Great use of extra paint on that one!!!

10-21-2007, 10:46 AM

10-21-2007, 02:57 PM
The skull is my favorite, no reason, I just like it. The cat is deliberately ignoring us and the cows are so nosy, want to find out what you are doing.

10-21-2007, 08:06 PM
This is so industrious love the cows.

10-23-2007, 11:46 AM
