MY COMMENTS:
This started as a plein air from an outdoor art class I am taking. Due to the size and limited time (2 1/2 hours) in the field, I completed it at home.

I originally posted this on 10-7-07 and based on the comments I received, have reworked it. I think it's done and would appreciate any comments from the group. I take criticism well so don't hold back.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Anything you think would be helpful.

Wow, I really like the changes you made. The bright foreground ..great textures on the rocks...beautiful painting!

Nice, much better than the original (which was good).

Very nice rework, and it was worth it I think.

Really dramatic. This picture has a ton of punch to it. Greatest part of it was your willingness to go in and rework something you might have originally liked. That's showing huge maturity as an artist. Fantastic.

Only minor thing: there seems to be a bit of a "one rock, one plant" thing repeating itself in the foreground. Almost all the plants grow behind rocks. Also, the shadowing from the small rocks doesn't feel consistent with the shadowing of the large foreground boulders.

The rocks and grasses seem to stop about an inch from the bottom edge.
I'd like to see some breaking the straight line of the bottom edge.
nice painting
