Hi!
I am new in WetCanvas and I don't know in what forum I must ask my question.
From the childhood I remember this old reproduction which was in our home.

If someone knows who is the author of this picture or saw it before, inform me please. It is very important for me.
Sorry for my poor English.
From Russia with love,
Galina

Just a suggestion that may help you search. One response to the "academic artist" Bouguereau topic in the art history forum cited the link below which seems to show works of many artists similar in style to the reproduction you uploaded. I did not examine the site at length and hope it is not a waste of your time but thought you might be interested.

Hello again.
http://www.speel.demon.co.uk/index.htm

is another link that may prove helpful. Click on illustration. Your image suggests a narrative or anecdote to me. Also, at the bottom of the page is an e-mail address bob@speel.demon.co.uk where an expert may be able to identify the image were you to send it there. Found this quite by chance and remembered your question.

Hey Galina,
A site with many Russian artists( should it be one is "Olgas Gallery". Maybe some luck there.

Looks like either a French or English style. I would say 1780-1840.
