It's back and better than ever! Make It University!™ with Cloth Paper Scissors® at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, November 1 - 4, 2007, will feature:

* a Fat Inchie Swap; (see directions for making Fat Inchies in the August/September issue of Quilting Arts Magazine and linked from the Make It University webpage.)
* Open Studios on the show floor with artists including Judy Coates Perez, Lesley Riley, Beryl Taylor, Tracie Lyn Huskamp, Marilyn Huskamp, Lisa Engelbrecht, and Patricia Bolton;
* Mini-workshops with Make It University!™ with Cloth Paper Scissors®;
* Surviving the Runway: The Ultimate Creative Challenge with Patricia Bolton;
* Plus a mixed-media gallery; vendors offering a wide array of mixed-media and fiber arts supplies, and much more.

Can't get to Houston? You can still participate in the Fat Inchie Swap. Just send up to 10 Fat Inchies along with a SASE to the Quilting Arts offices in Stow, MA, by October 22, 2007. In November, they'll send back the same number of Fat Inchies you sent in. (Limit 10 per person.)

Thanks for the info....I get Quilting Arts magazine but haven't looked through my latest one. Too much on my plate right now.

I won't be able to go to Houston as I am teaching colored pencil on a Mexican Riviera Cruise Nov 4-11 (I'm so excited!)

But I am really interested in this "fat inchie" thing. I will have to read up on it.

One more thing to try!!

If you do a google search on "inchies" or "fat inchies" you will see some wonderful little creations. Some are paper, some are out of fabric...all with embellishments.

I had such a good time last night looking at all the examples/swaps etc
available on the net. What did we do before the net??????

If anyone in the Fiber Forum has done any of these (paper or fiber), I
would love to see them.

I'm going to try to make some this week. If I can find the time..:eek:

I did a tutorial on making inchies or fabric charms:

Just click on the "fabric charms" link.
