MY COMMENTS:
This was my second dolphin painting . It was a commission piece for a client in Scotland and was well received. The challenge of this painting for me, was the underwater scene. Please let me know you opinions. Thanks!

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Any suggestions for painting underwater scenes?

I inadvertently posted a photo that showed only a portion of the top of the painting...The dolphin on the right is fully on the canvas as well as the upper right background..will post a photo of whole painting tomorrow...

I can see why this was well received. It shows a great measure of competence, at the same time it reveals the need for a lot of polishing. The only thing that you need to do is just do, paint and paint and paint! You will definitely arrive and have a great deal of joy in the journey!

Its quite a joyful painting. I have some small things to say, but they do not matter really.
1. The open eyes of dolphins look too human like.
2. The tail of the upside down dolphin has a strange structure that doesnt resemble dolphins to me (or is it just me)
3. Adding some orange glow reflection from sunset to th sea surface would be great.

Except those small points that distract me your painting is lovely for me.

Thank you both for the constructive critiques and the nice compliments. I think when I am working on tight time constraints that a commission piece sometime has, it's hard to get in all the polishing I normally do when I can take my time. Perhaps, because I think Dolphins are such intelligent , affectionate animals...I subliminally gave them "human like" eyes? Or I may just need to study the Dolphin eyes more closely !!! Thanks for taking the time to help me...I appreciate it!
