Since I finally bought a digital camera today to replace a broken one I will probably be posting various paintings as I start them from now on.

This one is 16" x 20" acrylic on panel board. Progress has been quick so far, everything was done in one sitting of 4 hours, a result of knowing exactly what I wanted to do (which is rare). The clouds are finished but now I need to work on the foreground. I'll be doing a lot of work on the rocks but that shouldn't be that bad, my main concern is vegetation. I was originally thinking of adding trees but I like the dark contrasting edge meeting the brightness of the sky and I don't want to interfere with that. I'll post more pics as I make more progress.

The sky is wonderful. I am anxious to see what you do with the rest of it. Jan

Thanks, I'm glad you both like the sky. I did some more work on the rocks today. This pic seems slightly more yellow than the first pic. Maybe slightly different ambient lighting, I don't know. I'm thinking of putting a dead tree up on the right hill, looks like the perfect place for one.

I really like this! Great idea to put a tree on the hill to our right. Some of the texture down the bank could be tree roots. I agree with the others, the sky is fantastic! I also think you're doing wonderfully on the rocks and banks as well.:D

I'll be back to see the progress!

Welcome to WetCanvas Ray! You have indeed mastered that sky - not an easy task with acrylics.
