I just had to share this with you guys! They make these mini orchids these days but there seems to be a side affect that causes some to have 3 central and intricate bitsinstead of just the one. There was also some mini pink versions that had more deffined altered petals, but this was the only yellow one in the shop >.> I shall take more photos at some point.

wow! the top of the center looks almost like a bird of prey, it's wings spread high and the head looking down. it always amazes me what hybridizing and even Mother Nature can come up with from time to time. thanks for sharing this, Chaosia!

What you've got there is a peloric orchid. Wikipedia describes it well:
"Orchid flowers with abnormal numbers of petals or lips are called peloric. Peloria is a genetic trait, but its expression is environmentally influenced and may appear random."
Sometimes a peloric orchid tries to make three lips (like yours), instead of two petals above and the lip below in the middle. There are peloric orchids that are cloned and sold specifically for their peloric features (check out this one: Phalaenopsis equestris 'Olympia's Peloric' (http://www.olympiaorchids.com/P.%20equestris%20'Olympia%23BCBBB.jpg)), but most are simply orchids with confused genes. :(
All the best,
