Thought I'd post this over here, too. The WIP can be followed over in the CP forum here (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=445547).

This was out of my comfort zone, but a really good exercise for me. While I am calling it done, I am still *very* open to suggestions, crits, & comments.

5x7 on fabriano Disegnio paper with FC Polychromo colored pencils.

Thanks for looking!

Very very pretty! I really like the petals, the shadows and light really make them look so real.

One of my favorite flowers! You've caught the petal color exactly. Nice!

Thank you Deb & Nancy!

I'm surprised by how well it turned out. :D

Thank you, Margaret! The background is the part I'm the least happy with. But it was a *very* good exercise in getting me away from following my ref pic too closely.

Thanks for looking!

Can't help much with CPs - I like them but don't practice much!
I really, really, like the diferent levels in the b/ground - love the depth and the subtlety of the tones there! ...... then the brightness of the flower stem and leaves - lovely!

The flower's good too! I like this! :D

Thank you, Maureen!

I'm addicted to cp's. I love how versatile they can be, as well as how little mess (other than my working chaos) they create. And how forgiving. The eraser is my friend. :D
