MY COMMENTS:
This is a sketch/underpainting type of thing on a canvas board - once I get it up to snuff it will be an acrylic painting.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I'll take any advice at all on how to make this sketch as good as it can be.

Hi DC! Initially I would have chosen to use my canvas turned up the other way. There is too much empty space on either side of the image...perhaps you have intentions for that. The only thing I would say should be done at this point is to resolve the issues of balance in the face. make sure the oval of the face is really oval, make sure the eyes are placed evenly and level with each other and that they are the same shape and size. Nose straight and center and mouth as well. Better to work these things out now than try to fix them in progress. Share with us what you are doing!

The idea is pretty much to make the background a wasteland with grey skies - I'm just sort of hoping it will work out alright.

I should probably fiddle with that nose. : /
