Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
Been awhile...

Still exploring macro images and trying to replicate the depth and planes. This one may still read too flat, yet I think it might work with this composition.
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:

hmmm way too pixelated... Using a new mac with photoshop elements for my images... HELP!

There is a certain red that seems to speak Carnation, this is a bit too orange. But I do recognize the convolution of petals crinkled characteristically, there in the right hand lower corner. That does speak powerfully of Carnation. The other petals seem quite unlike. Well, those are technicalities, I am not even sure you care if the flower is literally depicted. As an image it is beautiful
ooh, this is a beauty, especially the bottom two thirds, love that drama, fabulous color combination ... pixelated, lol, good word ... does that go away when you shrink it a bit?

I'd love to see this in person because, on an abstract level, this painting has fantastic depth. I'm not sure why it's putting me in mind of Motherwell, but it is. Really dramatic. I like it very much.

GASP. Yeah, Motherwell..the big chunky up close shapes. This is fine.

Gorgeous as is. I DO see the Motherwell that the people are referring to. Maybe a bit O'Keefe, too. I might try some darks in there. But that is only a suggestion. Very lively.

Thanks for commenting everyone. Interesting reference to Motherwell - perhaps if i made the detail less literal?
