I hate my camera. It loves to blur my pictures.
Anyway, this is 18''x24'' on canvas. An inch was cropped off of the left hand side because of camera issues. C&C welcome.

I love it! The yellow flowers against the dark water as well as everything about it is beautiful. And I love the detail.

I love this. No critique from me on this one. You get better and better with more practice.

Oh, I like this, too! The wonderful contrast in values between the dark lake and the bright flowers in the foreground.

A thought about the blurry camera: my hubby is a photographer, and says that blurring is sometimes due to a shaky camera. We THINK we are steady, but are not...

Perhaps try a tripod?? Even a little homemade job might help.

Anyway, I am having fun looking at your work. Oh, and loved the Kitty and Monarch, too!

That water looks really good, as well as the foreground foliage.

Again I am impressed. So much dimension and attention to detail.

The dark water is beautiful. The reflections work well. The light foreground stems and flowers enhance the depth and darkness of the water.

Some of the flower heads could imho be improved.

The clouds, sky, and mountains have a wonderful sense of depth or recession.

I especially like the way the bright cloud in the upper right gives a sense of lightness.

Good range of values.

A beautiful painting. Few complaints.

I agree with nilesh, and I am curious where this location is, I checked your atavar and you give no info where you live, this reminds of a lake in the Adirondacs I once visited, it was so hauntingly alone up there, and looked like this spot. this pleaseth thine eyes.

This is an eye feast of colors and values.
It ignores some technical rules that we try to follow to capture "realism", but "realistic" nature is rarely, if ever, so vibrant as this.

Yes, the flower heads could def. be improved. Normally, I would have done a better job, but I put these in less than twenty minutes before this painting was due (for my acrylic painting class) and to be critiqued.

Hey birdhs- I used various refrence pictures of Idaho for this. Unfortunately, I live in Illinois where we have no where near as much beauty in nature. In fact, the best landscape scene out of Illinois would probably involve fields of corn. Yes, lots and lots of corn. And possibly a John Deere combine.
