I thought it would be appropriate to post some older acrylic works that are in a show that is opening on 9-13-07 here in the Southwest.

WOW!

The first two are wonderfully seasoned with surrealistic detail. Your perspective in all of them is wonderful.
Then you flabbergast me with the next two cacti!. They are steamy!! You can feel the long hot day the one on the left just went through, and on the right the heat just glows from the painting. They must be city boys all plump and juicy!
I also like the one with its roots delicately testing the water on the desert floor. This is a real treat. Thanks for sharing these. I may be in the area in the near future. Where is this show?

Stunning work, Les... yes, tell us where you are having your show! What are the sizes on those first two trees? They are wonderfully abstracted...

The first two are fair sized. About 39 x 48. Thanks for the kind words.

Les, I don't think I've seen any of these before. The closeups are absolutely wonderful! Breathtaking views! You do have a way with paint, my friend.

Les,
These are just super. Colors, gestures, negative space, etc. Wish I could see the show and see these in person. Wow!

Les, do you show your work here in San Diego? It looks very familiar. Nice, beautiful work, by the way.

If you are referring to the first two trees, they are flaxleaf paperbarks. They are indigenous to Australia. They brought them over to California and they thrive so well that they are now considered noxious. Thanks for the kind words.

I haven't shown in San Diego. I would like to if I could find an acceptable venue. Thanks for the look and the comments.

Hey Les, looks like you've found another home for your work. These fit so well in this forum. I've really missed seeing your work as I don't get into acrylics much anymore. Good to see ya again my friend.

Peace,
AL

I like these very much Les. They are very creative in composition and not your typical SW landscape painting. Very refreshing.
