Dryandra is a native plant found only in Western Australia and is a relative of the Banksia family. This one is Dryandra cuneata (I think) and is the latest in the "My Back Yard" series.
68 x 87cms.
Oil on board.

interesting plant! it reminds me a little of sea holly with those prickly looking bracts. i love the perspective and the depth you created! only crit...the background is trying to steal the show. can you tone it down or crop some of it off? hope you don't mind...i cropped this a little.:o your thoughts?

I think the background is stealing the show too, maybe just tone down the brighter pink area. Other then that this is really beautiful, love the colors of the plant with the branches in the front.

I have no idea what this plant is but it certainly looks remarkable to me! I love the colors and textures in this. There is so much to entertain the eye. It's like a feast....
