Guess I'll start this week's log... Have had another busy weekend with cleaning, grocery shopping and entertaining. Haven't had much time in front of the easel, maybe later today. Hope all are doing well. We had flash flooding with as much as 7" of rain over the last 24 hours!

Yesterday - shopping to stock up on food etc, then visit to my sister for her birthday ......... today, 3.5hours gardening trying to get the lawn back into shape and some tidying up.

Hello greenies
I'm posting here to make a pledge......
I AM going to paint something this week, whether it's a flower or a landscape, I am going to paint.
Now I have to do it! ;)
I posted some flower pics in the RIL, this one:
And these Rudbeckia:
If I've done this right you should be able to click on the photos and go directly to the larger files in the RIL :)
Have a wonderful week filled with beautiful flowers :)

Celeste- Wow that is a lot of rain. Seems like you are doing okay with so much rain.
Maureen- I'm so glad you are having nice weather. It's still warm here.
Ruth those flowers are beautiful, I really like the first one.
I have been sick all week with a sore throat, cough. It's just taking a long time to go away, I guess. Nothing exciting going on here, just working on the Parrot Tulips when I have a chance.
Hi to everyone that follows :)

great photos, Ruth! i love to raid your gallery in the RIL.
it's starting to feel like Fall here. today is grey and holding in the 50's. at least we're finally seeing some much needed rain, tho. i'd love Fall a whole lot more if winter didn't come right after.

Thanks Celeste, Deb and Billie :) I love to share - I can never paint every photo I take after all!
I had a day for me today, a full day of painting! First was a warm-up of a black swan, then a floral :D

LOL isn't that the truth. I love Fall, even though here in So. Calif. we don't see the Fall colors like other parts of the country it's still a very pretty time of year with nice weather. But we have to get past Halloween before it really cool down here.
It's already 50  That is winter weather to me. It's suppose to be almost 100 here today.
Hi Ruth, we posted at the same time. Wow you had a very productive day, two paintings...that's great :)

Hi Deb, I wish we'd had a summer to miss, but it seems like we've had Autumn since May! I don't mind low temps so much, but I hate the rain and it's been the wettest summer on record in the UK :(
I've posted my floral here in the forum (shameless plug  )

Ruth, I have heard about all your rain, and I think most of the US is really low on rain this year... you need to send it this way :)

Hi all
Lovely weather again today - so out in the garden doing major tidy/ mulching/re-development! Wish we had more hours in the day!
Billie - it's been close to 70 today .... won't last though! Only twice this "summer" that I've been out shopping etc without a jacket or cardigan! My bare arms were in shock!
Deb - hope you're feeling better now - how miserable to be poorly when you have heat like that!
Ruth - must have read my mind ... went to the Garden Centre for mulch today and looked for Japanese Anemones and rudbeckia! - Love those Anemones - the white especially just glow in the evening light - so hope B&Q still have them tomorrow (have to go for another 4 bags of bark mulch - it doesn't go far!!!)
Those photos are beauties - hope my plants take off like those! :D
Had a lovely compliment from another poster in Acrylics - wants to use one of my rose paintings for the poetry thread in the Cafe .... anyone follow that particular series? It's called ekphrastic poetry - writen in response to a painting/work of art I believe ... did a little Google on it!
Will catch up with all the new postings here sometime I hope - I couldn't access the site today until this evening - I expect it was the same for all of us ... wonder why?
OK - back later! :D

This summer has also been full of rain in Denmark, but right now the sun has come out, and I can spend some time in my garden.
I just had my first assignment from my botanical illustration course returned and, it looks like my tutor is happy with my progress, so now I am of to study shading of leaves.
I had the luck to be able to buy the domain marianne-mathiasen.com.
I would like to get a new gallery showing my art and it is so hard to find a good domain, but this is perfect.
My husband and I are restoring an old building from 1836, it's located on Als in the south of Denmark. WE are going to spend the next week there working, we hope to finish the project just before Christmas, so we can invite the family to spend their Christmas vacation with us in the house.

You must have done a lot of the work already Marianne - the building looks almost new! A big undertaking eh? Looks really good - you should all have fun there! :D
The lovely weather here is turning cold again - and rain is forecast - ah well, back to normal then! :D
Got my two Japanese Anemones planted yesterday - small as yet, but they'll grow! also planted some primulas for Spring colour - love their bold, in-your-face colours! Now need the spring bulbs - more spending! Yippee!
Had lunch with g'friends today - every 6 weeks, we catch up - the area where the Pub is had a power cut but fortubately it was after our lunch and coffee
