View Full Version : 2 Sumo Wrestlers-cartoon style

This is a pic I've done today. It's humor. I've done it in tech pen ink and prismacolor markers. I'd love to have Japanese calligraphy(right-hand corner under the facing sumo. And below Japanese (or the sumo with backside) have the English translation put there. Let me know what you think.

Very clever! We have a calligraphy sub-forum here if you need any advice regarding that.

I'll bet this was a lot of fun to do! Nice job! I've been playing around with my prismacolor markers lately... what surface did you do this on? I find that the cheaper the surface, the better.. unfortunately! They work exceptionally well on regular printer paper. I've been working on the back of matboard.

Very nicely done... and this is news for me about the use of markers... I will check them out on the internet... God, too many things to do and too little time :)

 objectivistartist, artistdbs, and Tammamo, thank you!

Dave, actually I went to Dick Blick and asked a clerk what paper they'd work on and he said marker paper...pointed in the direction, and I grabbed it. It's thicker than vellinum tracing paper, but thin like it. It's by Canson, called Pro Layout Marker, 9"x12", 18 LB, 50 sheets.

Tammamm, it seems like there is never enough time. And we thought technology would help. ;)

Cathy, this is awesome...lol After looking at it for a couple of minutes I decided it didn't need a butt icon:D Very good use of the markers. Is the marker paper archival?

hehehe! Butt icons sure can be informative. Thanks for keeping an eye out. I appreciate your compliment. I think the paper is archival. Canon makes great quality paper and I only know of the non-acid kind. I'll check and see what the tablet says.
