Thanks, everyone. Sandra - no clue on the size of those beads; I never measure anything I make. How big is the tip of your little finger? That's about the size.

08-28-2007, 08:45 AM
Great beads!! I love the rings!
these are mine, a mermaid( I hope I haven't shown her before...) and some gold and silver fumed boro.

Ellen - How do you get that matte look to your beads? They're lovely!
Bernadette - stunning! I love the twistie, it's so delicate and sea like.
Phoenix - THe crackle effect is really impressive - how do you get that?
B-Todd - more amazing trees! Hve you ever done a weeping willow?
Sandra - the detail on the figure in your bead is awesome..how do you get such finesse? Low flame?
Lizajanye - what is that beautiful stripe of silver in the middle? Leaf or wire? I love the blue and gray ones best!
ndylla - what gauge wire do you use for your rings? I feel some Christmas presents coming on!
Starleen - I am simply floored by your florals - the detail and realism are amazing.
Anastasia - That chartruese color is beautiful! Are the dots plunged?
pinarhakim - I'm at a loss....my eyebrows went up to my hariline when I saw your beads. How on earth did you get that irridescent swirl?
RMG - is there a tutorial on wire wrapping beads somewhere? I have to give it a try now!
Tomsanctuary - i think your shell is the prettiest one I've seen from you yet!

Here's a couple of mine from yesterday (I was finally able to get them off the mandrel - thank you xiola!)DARNIT! Gotta charge the digital camera first.....:o

Wonderful beads today. Here are some of mine.

08-28-2007, 11:47 AM
Ellen - Ooooh, I really like your dot work - lovely patterns you've created, especially in the brown and orange bead and the blue one! :D
Bernadette - Gorgeous bead - very soothing!
Jessica - I  your organic style - really like the first one with the crackling effects!
Belinda - Beautiful landscape bead! :D I really like the sky and the sense of perspective.
Sandra - FABULOUS! Very tribal!
Liza - I like that one too but they all have a great feel to them!
Neil - WOW! Your rings are fantastic! The clear and the topaz are rockin'!
Jayne - You keep finding the coolest keys to work with!
Starleen - Ooooooh, GORGEOUS! Your floral work is exceptional!
Anastasia - Wonderful use of a bold color! I love it!
Pinar - Yummy beads - orange (coral) is really your color!
Rachelle - Your mermaid is so graceful!
T&K - As usual, it's the shark that gets my attention! :D
Annie - Great name for a great bead! I like the look of sandy ground!
Val - I like the green swirlies!

Here's an Eye of Horus made with a base of the new Pale Avocado, some silver and then the stringer work is Dark Silver Plum:

08-28-2007, 11:53 AM
Thanks guys- the first one with the crackling is just light ovory as a base with silver (leaf I think) and intense black- the intense black kind of sucks up the silver- but the crackle left behind I love as well. With foil I usually get more beads of silver- so I'm pretty sure on that one :-)

Rachelle - that's my favorite mermaid/figure ever of yours- she's gorgeous!

08-28-2007, 12:02 PM
Thank you all for the lovely remarks on the mermaid! she was my first try with red-copper green.
Joanne, (FlamerJo) the fumed beads are wrapped with a stringer of the same glass, (clear boro) and then fumed with gold or silver, resulting in the metalic look.
Amber, that eye is marvelous, the colours you get from silver plum are amazing! all I've managed to get is metalic grey!

08-28-2007, 01:20 PM
Val, I also love those soft blues. Very tranquil feel.
Neil, Did your wife do the wire work on those rings? Really sensational.
Great showcase everyone.

08-28-2007, 01:44 PM
Beautiful! the rings are gorgeous..the copper is my favorite. Ellen those have a really earthen old world quality. I like them a lot.

Amazing showcase here! Very inspiring...thanks to everyone for sharing.

08-28-2007, 03:03 PM
thanks for all nice comments.

the colours are red copper green and mustard yellow or ochre.

08-28-2007, 03:22 PM
Lizajanye - what is that beautiful stripe of silver in the middle? Leaf or wire? I love the blue and gray ones best!

Thanks Joanne! The stripe in the middle is done with SIS (silvered ivory stringer) and then I wrapped some 30 gauge silver wire around for added sparkle. The etching makes such a difference on these too!

08-28-2007, 03:52 PM
Amazing pieces of art, everyone! Wow!

08-28-2007, 04:07 PM
Thanks Joanne! The stripe in the middle is done with SIS (silvered ivory stringer) and then I wrapped some 30 gauge silver wire around for added sparkle. The etching makes such a difference on these too!And what is "silvered ivory stringer"? Do you just make a stringer out of ivory covered in silver leaf and encased in clear?

Bernadette Fuentes
08-28-2007, 05:01 PM
Lots of great new postings!

Thank you for all the great compliments everyone!
Joanna, silvered ivory stringer is like you said ivory glass covered with silver leaf or foil. It is best on dark ivory. You can also cover dark ivory stringer with silver and use it. I do not cover it with clear!

Wow what a show!.
I love Anastasia's and I'm becoming a big Pinar fan! Lot's of inspiration in here always.
I do all the wire working myself on the rings.
I use 18 gauge and occasionally 16 gauge.
Thanks for all the nice comments on the rings.
