Thanks, Lucy. The eyshadow is my addition to the image. Hmm, overstated, eh? Well, I'm a guy and guess I know little about makeup! What I was hoping to do was introduce some violet into the composition. Orange and violet seemed to be somewhat complementary. I do appreciate your input! :)

It's almost artistic looking, except some portions (like the hair, looks a little bit like a photo),but no big deal.(ain't nothin' to worry).

Thank you, Wrangler and Jean. I guess the consensus is that she could do with some improvements. I do appreciate all your input, that's one nice thing about WC. Good constructive crits! :D

Very nice.
I would increase contrast on some areas of the hair to give volume. Right now the whole hair is almost of the same value and that can't be because the head is rounded and the back of her hair is getting away from the light. I would also soften a little her chin. I think it's getting too much attention to itself. I like the sweater and the colors in the background. They blend very well with her.

Thank you, Janet. Can you give me any pointers on how to adjust the hair? And is it the darkness under her chin that is defining it too well? Any technical suggestions I would appreciate. I'm using Painter 8.

I have marked in yellow the areas that I think would benefit if you paint them darker. To paint it darker use several colors. Don't just darken the same hair color. Do mix several colors. The area under her chin will benefit also.
